About Us

Healthy Changes Counseling Associates, PLLC is a growing company.  We have been in the mental Health field for approximately 35+ years. We have been in private practice for approximately 25+ years. We have a very talented group of therapists delivering exceptional services.  We really enjoy helping individuals, couples and families to reach balance and restore connection in their lives. If you have been struggling for a while with a particular issue, and are ready to make healthy changes, please feel free to contact us. We have seasoned therapists who can help you address the difficulties and work with you diligently toward your goals.

Ola Hardiman, MSW, LCSW – Ola works with adults as well as with children and adolescents. Ola’s special interest is in Mindfulness, being in the moment and utilizing that philosophy for stress management and expanding her Hypnotherapy practice. Ola has been training in Hypnotherapy since 2003, with particular interest in utilizing hypnotherapy for pain management. Ola specializes in working with Childhood sexual abuse survivors, trauma, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and Eating Disorders. Ola also runs the Adolescent and Adult DBT groups.

Marjorie McDonald, MSW, LCSW – Marjorie is a seasoned therapist who has special interest in working with women and women’s issues. She has worked with adolescents and adults. She also works well with parenting issues and life management to parenting adolescents. She has extensive work experience in general mental health and wellbeing, addressing depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, and works well with adolescent and adult women dealing with childhood trauma.


John Feeney, MSW, LCSW  As the newest member of our group John is enthusiastic and innovative with a vibrant passion for what we do here at Healthy Changes Counseling.  He enjoys working with individuals to address the pain/stuck points in their life and to forge a positive future.  John’s strengths are versatile giving him the ability to use several different positive therapeutic approaches to address client concerns.  This unique set of skills includes Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Substance Abuse issues.  In addition to these practices John is an avid outdoorsman and can offer Wilderness based therapy (Please feel free to call John and ask about this option.)

With his ability to focus and listen intently John is able to bring compassion and understanding to a new level.  He is able to bring issues to light in a new way progressing towards improvement through understanding.   For these reasons, and many others, John is well admired by his clients and colleagues and we are excited that he has joined our growing family of providers.  Currently he is being supervised by Ola Hardiman working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and trauma.  Please contact us to talk about his generous sliding scale fee.

  • Bachelor of Science (Psychology) – University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA 

Ann Hart, LPC – There are not enough words to describe Ann’s warmth.  She is accepting, understanding, empathetic, supportive, and a tremendously caring therapist.  We are very excited about her decision to come join the practice and couldn’t have hoped for a better addition.   She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is able to provide individual, couples, and group therapy to adults.  Working with a diverse group of individuals, she helps develop coping skills to deal with life stressors as well as depression, anxiety, women’s issues, trauma, and history of sexual abuse.  Some fields she has training in include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as training in treating persons struggling with Addictions.  She also has experience in working with Mindfulness and Imagery and is well-versed in positive uses of these strategies that are gaining a positive foothold in modern treatment.

At this time, Ann is able to provide an initial appointment in one week or less.  The initial appointment will involve information gathering and she hopes to provide you with some coping strategies at the end of the session as well as make follow up appointments.  If needed she is available to you by telephone to answer any questions you may have regarding clarification of using the strategies during the time period in-between appointments.
